The Original Cake Company – Terms & Conditions
By placing an order with The Original Cake Company, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
-
Order Processing & Amendments
We process many orders promptly, often on the same day they are placed.
If your order is for a future delivery date and has not yet been dispatched, we will usually be able to make amendments. However, once an order has been processed for dispatch, amendments or cancellations may not be possible unless expressly approved by a member of our team. -
Preferred Delivery Dates
We offer preferred delivery dates to help you plan your order. However, these dates are not guaranteed. Delivery may be affected by external courier delays or circumstances outside our control. -
Recommended Order Timing
For special occasions, we strongly recommend placing your order to arrive in advance of when the cake is required.
For Nude Ready-to-Decorate Cakes, please ensure your order arrives at least 4 days before decorating to allow time for preparation and assembly.
Though rare, delays or damage can occur during transit — allowing additional time helps ensure any issues can be resolved before your event. -
Quality Concerns & Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or not up to our usual high standards, we may require supporting evidence (such as photos of the item or packaging) so we can assess the situation and offer an appropriate resolution. -
Refunds & Returns
As our products are perishable food items, we are unable to accept returns due to food hygiene and safety regulations.
Refunds or replacements will only be considered where a product is proven to be faulty, damaged on arrival, or incorrect, as verified by our team through the required evidence. -
Delivery & Courier Liability
We use trusted third-party couriers for delivery across the UK. Once your order has been dispatched, responsibility for the delivery lies with the courier.
We cannot be held liable for delays caused by incorrect delivery information, the recipient not being available to receive the parcel, or courier operational issues such as weather or transport disruptions.
Where delivery delays or damage occur, we will work with the courier to resolve the issue wherever possible, but resolutions are subject to courier policies and investigations.
